The MHS eSports Rocket League team competed at the Wisconsin High School eSports Association State Championships at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. The competition was intense and they took 4th in Division 2. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Althea Eckdhal who finished 6th at the WIAA Individual State Championships this past weekend! She competed at 120 pounds and is the first girl wrestler from Monroe to qualify and place at the state tournament. She finished the season with a 24-7 record. Congratulations, Althea!

Congratulations to the MHS Dance team on qualifying for State at the Southern Regional Dance Competition Feb 2nd and 3rd! The team qualified in Division 2 Jazz and Mikayla Schwartzlow qualified for All-State as a soloist.

Congratulations to Mary McKenzie and Tre Dammen who both qualified this past Saturday for the 2023 WIAA State Cross County Championships! The meet will be this Saturday, October 28th at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. Girls Individual will run at 2:25pm and Boys Individual will run at 12:35pm. Good luck to both of you and congratulations!

The MHS Cross Country Girls and Boys teams (both JV and Varsity) dominated at their final conference meet in Whitewater and walked away Conference Champs for the second year in a row! Congratulations, Hounds!

Congratulations to MHS Senior Isaac Bunker who took 3rd place in his weight class at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament! Isaac finished the season with a 46-5 record with 37 of those wins by "Pin Fall". He easily broke the single-season record for pins with 28. Congrats on a great season, Isaac!

Congratulations to the Cheesemaker Football team who have been announced as a state winner in the 2022-2023 National Football Foundation's National High School Academic Excellence Awards! This honor goes to the top team at each level of play in each state and the 60 teams named are now finalists for the Hatchell Cup!

Congratulations to the MHS Dance team who took 6th in D2 Jazz in the State competition in La Crosse - the highest they have placed at the State level! Kierra Zahradka also earned all-state honors for her self-choreographed solo.

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls MHS Cross Country teams on earning Academic All-State Honors from the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association! Academic honors are determined by calculating the combined average GPAs of the best 5 of 7 runners. The Boys team had a combined GPA of 3.75, while the Girls team had a combined GPA of 3.958! That is simply amazing and we could not be prouder of our student-athletes! Congratulations to everyone, you make Monroe proud! Hammer Hounds! #CheesemakerPride

Boys Cross Country team includes; Jared Batz, Anthony Wels, Tre Damman, Wyatt Stevenson, Padraic Houston, Ben Endley, and Kylan Ditsworth.

Girls Cross Country team includes; Jayden Elgin, Miley Hanson, Mary McKenzie, Aniyah Jackson-Bey, Katrina Sathoff, Ximena Miranda Hernandez, and Anna Polnow.

Monroe High School was recently presented with the 2022 Football Sportsmanship Award! Thank you to Rural Mutual representatives Josh Schenk and Craig Kamholz for making the trip to deliver this very special honor. We are so proud of our #CheesemakerPride family!

The Cheesemaker Football team went undefeated this season and took home the State trophy with a 35-14 win over West Salem. Congratulations!

Congrats to the MNG Swim team who competed at the 2022 WIAA Division 2 State Swim Meet in Waukesha! Monroe/New Glarus had a great showing of fan support to cheer on a talented and hard-working group of girls!

All MNG girls swam season bests!
The 200 Free Relay Team broke their own school record by .01 seconds!
The team placed 13th out of 35 total teams!
