Forensics (4N6) is a school organization that focuses on the art of performing public speaking and acting. There are both individual and group competitions in various acting, reading and speaking categories. Forensics is a great activity for someone who wants to be involved but doesn't have extra time. Forensics looks great on college applications, and it can help you improve your confidence for public speaking and being in front of a crowd. Practices are weekly and will last approximately 15 minutes after your piece is selected.
The MHS Forensics team begins its practice season in late September/early October (look for announcements and letters about our first informational meeting!). From October to December, we write and find our pieces and practice to get them competition ready. Our competition season runs from January-April each year, ending with the WHSFA State tournament at UW Madison.
You should join 4N6 if...
- You are an outstanding public speaker or actor
- You like to have fun!
- You are quiet and need an activity to open you up and help you make friends
- You need an outlet to express your creative side
- You want an activity that looks great on college applications!
