All Parkside 5th graders have the privilege of being a Safety Patrol member.  We have many different positions for Safety Patrol.  Some of the favorite positions are bus crossing guard and announcement readers. The responsibilities of a Safety Patrol member include:

• Report to duty on time and stay on duty until the designated leave time.

• Perform duties faithfully.

• Strive to prevent accidents and set a good example for others.

• Listen to teachers and advisors.

• Report dangerous practices of students.

• Strive to earn the respect of fellow students.

• Get our homework finished on time.

There are two rewards for Safety Patrol members.  The first is in January, the second is on the last day of school. Past rewards have included bowling at Leisure Lanes and seeing a feature film at a movie theater.
