What it is: Model UN is an exciting way to learn more about international diplomacy, write argumentative position papers, debate current global issues, and meet hundreds of students interested in global politics.  Students write, edit, and submit position papers supporting a nation’s interests on a current issue.  While playing their roles as ambassadors at the Wisconsin High School Model United Nations conference, a two day/overnight event at UW Milwaukee every year, student "delegates" make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, and resolve conflicts that affect countries all over the world.

How to join: Attend the first meeting of the year in Mr. Tostrud’s room and complete an intent to participate form (signed by student and parent/guardian).  Members then pay the MHS activity fee and complete and abide by the MHS Code of Conduct for Activities.  Please see MHS announcements for dates and times.

Accomplishments: In the past, students have received awards at the WHSMUN conference at UW-Milwaukee for their position papers, and we look forward to helping more do the same.
