Message from the Principal

A woman with blonde hair smiles directly at the camera.Abraham Lincoln Elementary Families,

Whether you’re returning this school year or joining the Abe community for the first time, we’re thrilled to have you with us. Our school is more than just a place of learning, it’s a place where connections are made, growth is nurtured, and memories are created. Each of you plays an important role in making our school a welcoming and supportive place for all.

We’re also excited to share that our school received some fantastic updates over the summer! As part of our referendum year two improvements, both the upper and lower hallways were freshly painted, the entire gym, including the ceiling and all walls - received a fresh coat of paint, and we now have a brand-new gym floor. These updates have truly brightened our space and will continue to support a positive and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

At Abe, our mission remains strong: to foster a compassionate learning environment with high expectations in which every student will grow and achieve. We’re thrilled to continue implementing the Bridges math curriculum this year, and now it will be extended to grades 4 and 5! This curriculum is designed to help students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through hands-on learning, collaboration, and problem-solving. Students will engage in rich discussions, explain their thinking, and explore math in meaningful ways.

As always, I’m so proud to lead a school with such an exceptional team of educators and support staff, all dedicated to helping your child succeed.

Looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, growing, and achieving together!

Warm regards,

Sarah Judd

Abraham Lincoln Elementary Named a Wisconsin School of Recognition

National SchoolAs principal, I am proud to announce that Abraham Lincoln Elementary School has been named a 2023–24 Wisconsin School of Recognition by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), an honor that highlights the school’s dedication to academic achievement, student growth, and equity in education.

Abraham Lincoln Elementary received the award in the High Progress Schools category, a distinction earned by only 24 schools across the entire state of Wisconsin. This recognition is based on a rigorous set of criteria, including measurable progress in student growth and closing achievement gaps, particularly for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Even though the award is for the 2023-24 school year, the school was officially notified of the honor in June 2025, following DPI’s revival of the program after a multi-year pause due to the pandemic. The announcement allows us to celebrate now and reflect on the impactful work that led to this recognition.

I am incredibly proud of our students and staff for their commitment to excellence! This recognition reflects the hard work and support of our entire school community, including educators, families, and students, who work together every day to help all learners grow and achieve.”

A special shout-out goes to our outstanding teachers and staff members, whose dedication, expertise, and tireless effort make such a strong impact on our students' academic growth. Through strong, caring relationships and a deep belief in each student’s potential, our staff creates a school environment where all children feel seen, supported, and capable of success. Their daily commitment to instructional excellence and to nurturing the whole child is the heart of everything we do at Abe Lincoln.

The Wisconsin Schools of Recognition program honors Title I schools that demonstrate sustained success in supporting student learning. Abraham Lincoln Elementary’s designation as a High Progress School affirms the school’s focus on high expectations, targeted supports, and a strong culture of learning.

This award comes on the heels of another extraordinary accomplishment, Abraham Lincoln Elementary was also named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School, a national honor awarded to schools for overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps.

These recognitions reflect the broader efforts of the School District of Monroe, where a consistent focus on instructional priorities, equity, and student-centered practices has helped drive achievement across all schools.

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page.

  • Abraham Lincoln Elementary School has a very active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) that is a vital support system for our school, fostering collaboration between community members, parents, teachers, and administration to enhance the educational experience for students. We meet once a month in the evening to plan and organize different activities. Our PTO organizes fundraising events to support the school with field trips, resources that teachers need, supplies for family nights, books for our vending machine, and more! The PTO also shows appreciation by celebrating staff during Staff Appreciation Week, which helps to build a connection between parents and staff.

All of our school rules revolve around the three expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
